Team Heretics and Natus Vincere had a rough start to the season, ending VCT EMEA Kickoff in sixth and seventh-eighth place, respectively. Team Heretics have decided to run it back for Stage 1, whereas NAVI made significant changes, adding Abdullah “ExiT” Al-Twaijr and Caide “chloric” Heaton.

ExiT and chloric are unproven at the top level and their signing comes off as a huge gamble. While there is a world where they prove worthy by competing in the VCT, neither has yet had a chance to play against tier-1 teams.

BBL Esports are the defending VCT EMEA champions, having cruised their way to the Kickoff title in February. They emerged as the region’s best team, but BBL’s performance at the Masters Santiago, where they crashed out in the second round, does not inspire much confidence.

To start Pacific 1, BBL Esports will face off against PCIFIC Esports, who were the clear worst team of VCT Kickoff. They have not made any roster changes, aside from the head coach change, promoting Manuel “thinkii” Martínez.

PCIFIC are likely going to make some role swaps to see what works. But considering their performance in VCT EMEA Kickoff, it is hard to believe they can derail one of the region’s top teams.
