PGL have announced on Monday, March 30, that M80 will not attend PGL Bucharest 2026 and will be replaced by EYEBALLERS.

The news comes after M80 confirmed they are skipping the Romanian Counter-Strike 2 tournament to attend Gamers Assembly to chase Valve Regional Ranking (VRS) points for Intel Extreme Masters Cologne Major qualification.

To fill in the gap, EYEBALLERS received a direct invite to PGL Bucharest, which will be their first big LAN event since the team’s relaunch in 2022.

EYEBALLERS, unlike M80, are way down the VRS table and unlikely to qualify for the next Major. Meaning they do not have the same incentive to prioritise smaller events over the Romanian tournament.

M80, however, are not the only CS2 team to make this move. Imperial Esports withdrew from PGL Bucharest on March 13 to attend NSTLGA Washington and FERJEE In House.

While M80 will aim to secure a strong placement in France before the April 6 Major invite cut-off, EYEBALLERS will have a chance to prove their worth against some of the world’s strongest teams.

Succeeding BLAST Open Spring, PGL Bucharest is the fifth Tier-1 CS2 tournament of the season. It will feature a US$625,000 prize pool and welcome some of the world’s highest-ranked teams.

While there are notable absences in Team Vitality, G2 Esports, Natus Vincere, Team Falcons, and MOUZ, PGL Bucharest will welcome PARIVISION, FUT Esports, FaZe Clan, The MongolZ, and Astralis as some of the leading title contenders.

With the withdrawal of M80, the top CS2 betting sites have adjusted the outright markets, but there have been no movement at the top of the list.PARIVISION remain the team to beat, priced at +175, followed by The MongolZ at +350, and FUT Esports at +450.

PGL Bucharest kicks off on April 3, and will run until April 11.
