The original draw for the second round of VALORANT Masters Santiago on Sunday, March 2, had to be re-done due to an error, re-seeding the teams in the right order.

The draw for the Masters Santiago, which succeeded the opening round of the Swiss Stage, was held live and unveiled the Round 2 fixtures.

As per the first draw, Paper Rex got paired with Gentle Mates and NRG with Team Liquid for the upper group. Meanwhile, EDward Gaming drew G2 Esports, and XLG Esports T1 for the 0-1 group.

After the draw concluded, VCT Commissioner Leo Faria announced on X that there was an error in the draw process and that it would have to be redone.

The issue with the draw was that the second team drawn was placed against the first team, rather than being slotted in the opposite side of the bracket, as originally intended. This mistake led to a mixed-up draw, pairing the wrong squads against each other.

To fix the mistake, Riot Games gathered all teams’ coaches at the hotel to hold a repeat draw.

The second draw changes all four fixtures.

In the 0-1 bracket, Gentle Mates, who were originally set to play Paper Rex, will now face Team Liquid. This left Paper Rex to clash with NRG.

In the 0-1 group, EDward Gaming were supposed to face G2 Esports, but will now play T1. G2 Esports, on the other hand, will clash with XLG Esports.

While the mistake was caught early, it also threw a wrench in the teams’ preparation, leaving them with significantly less time to forge strategies for the upcoming games.

Still, despite the delay, the action continues as scheduled, with the markets already available on all top-rated VALORANT betting sites for punters to explore.
