Brazilian Counter-Strike 2 team Legacy have decided to part ways with Lucas “lux” Meneghini, who was moved to the bench with immediate effect on Sunday, February 1.

The news comes following a rough start to the season, as Legacy have struggled to find much success early on in 2026.

They started the year with a third-place finish at the BetBoom RUSH B! Summit, losing to Sharks Esports and MIBR. More recently, Legacy exited Intel Extreme Masters Krakow in last place, losing to BC.Game Esports and FUT Esports in the Play-In stage.

This is a stark contrast to Legacy’s performances last season, which was very inspiring for the Brazilian outfit.

After middling results throughout the year, Legacy made a splash in the final two months of 2025, with a gold medal from CS Asia Championships and a runner-up finish at PGL Masters Bucharest.

Having skyrocketed in the global rankings, peaking at No.13 in the global standings and No.8 in Valve Regional Standings (VRS), Legacy entered this season with high expectations. However, they have yet to reach the heights expected of them.

Lux, who is on his way out of the team has been with Legacy since January 2025, and has averaged a 1.03 performance rating over the 12 months.

His individual form, however, as taken a huge dip over the last three months and is down to 0.89.

The abrupt benching sees Legacy field an incomplete roster, just under two weeks before PGL Cluj-Napoca.

With no replacements available, Legacy will field coach Bruno “RiVAS” Rivetti as a temporary replacement while they explore their options.

PGL Cluj-Napoca kicks off on February 14 and will feature 16 CS2 teams, vying for the lion’s share of the US$625,000 prize pool.

The top Counter-Strike bookmakers have yet to open betting markets for the event, which are expected to go live after the conclusion of the ongoing IEM Krakow on February 8.
