On Thursday, January 29, Bilibili Gaming made a shock announcement, promoting their academy player Yang “Wenbo” Web-Bo to the main League of Legends roster.

Wenbo takes over for Chen “Bin” Ze-Bin as Bilbili Gaming’s primary top laner in the LoL Pro League (LPL) in an unexpected move, which puts a huge question mark above the 22-year-old’s future with the team.

While no official news have been released, reports suggest that Bin is on his way out of Bilibili Gaming due to an internal dispute. Some sources claim that Bin got into an argument with Zhang “Yuzz” Xin-Yu.

Despite the reported drama, Bin is still listed as Bilibili Gaming’s player. However, with Wenbo’s promotion, Bin is unlikely to play in BLG’s next match against Top Esports on Friday.

Bin’s replacement, Wenbo, is a product of Bilibili Gaming’s development program, having joined the Chinese team in May 2025.

He has spent the last nine months competing in the League of Legends Development League (LDL), helping Bilibili Gaming Junior claim silver medals in LDL 2026 Split 2, Rounds 1 and 2.

He also featured at the Asia Masters Swiss 2 and the Esports Championships Asia last year, helping China reach the grand finals, where Wenbo’s national team lost to South Korea.

Until more information becomes available, Bin’s future with BLG remains unclear. However, his potential departure would be one of the biggest shock moves in the LoL scene’s history.

Bin has been a key player on Bilibili Gaming since his arrival from Royal Never Give Up in 2022.

He helped the Chinese squad win three LPL titles, reach the LoL World Championship final in 2024, and reach two Mid-Season Invitational finals in 2023 and 2024.
