Paris Gentle Mates looked great in the pre-season, but they went 1-1 in the opening week of the CDL season. They crushed the Vancouver Surge, yet could not make it past FaZe Vegas, who bested Gentle Mates on map five.
Dylan “Envoy” Hannon and his crew have looked excellent on Hardpoint, which seems to be their strong game mode. However, Paris Gentle Mates are lacking in Search & Destroy and Overload, which will be an issue when facing other top teams.
Los Angeles Thieves managed a 2-0 record in the first week, beating FaZe Vegas and Riyadh Falcons in style. While it is early into the season, the Thieves look in great shape, and all four players are firing on all cylinders.
Paris Gentle Mates are not to be underestimated; however, the Los Angeles Thieves looked much better and deserve to be favored for this match.

OpTic Texas entered CDL 2026 Stage 1 Major Qualifiers as the team to beat, and after one week of action, they have retained that tag. As expected, OpTic started the stage with a 2-0 record, beating Riyadh Falcond and G2 Minnesota.
While OpTic dropped one map against G2, they were in full control of the series, showing no weaknesses.
Miami Heretics lost their first game of the stage against Toronto KOI. That series could’ve easily ended in Heretics’ favor, but they got overly confident and slipped.
Even though Heretics have the players to compete for a top-eight finish, they are still finding traction and do not seem like a threat to OpTic Texas.

Cloud9 New York played just one game in the opening week, against G2 Minnesota, and lost 2-3. It was not a bad showing from Cloud9. But while they have done well on Hardpoint, Cloud9’s Search & Destroy and Overload need a lot of work.
Despite showing some weaknesses, Marcus “Afro” Reid and his crew enter this match as firm favorites. Priced at -400 on the best Call of Duty betting sites, Cloud9 are expected to cruise past the Vancouver Surge, and that sounds fair.
Even though Cloud9 have some work to do, the Surge have looked like the worst team in the league – in the pre-season and in Week 1 of CDL 2026. They have struggled with synergy and decision-making and have not shown anything inspiring in either game mode.
Surge could sneak in a map, but this is Cloud9’s game to lose.
