LoL Worlds 2025

“Death, Taxes, and T1 in LoL World Championship finals”

The two-time reigning League of Legends World Champions, T1, reached their fourth consecutive LoL Worlds final on Sunday by sweeping Top Esports in the last semifinal match of the knockouts stage.

The final remanning LoL Pro League (LPL) team, Top Esports, fell at the hands of the defending world champions in the most one-sided fixtures of the playoffs.

Sunday’s semifinal featured a version of T1 that looked nothing like the one that scraped by in the Swiss Stage.
However, instead of explosive performance, T1 opted for a more controlled style of play and slowly choked out Top Esports
with their superior teamfighting and macro. Still, even this approach did not stall the maps for too long.

This was the theme of all three maps, which lasted for just 30:12, 27:10, and 28:55, for a total of 1 hour and 26 minutes,
marking the shortest best-of-five of the tournament.

After an uninspiring 1-2 start in the Swiss Stage, the Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok turned on their jets for the playoffs and
singlehandedly eliminated both Chinese representatives.

While T1 had to dig deep to make it past Anyone’s Legend in the quarterfinals, Top Esports proved to be a much easier
opponent.

By eliminating Seo “Kanavi” Jin-hyeok and his crew, T1 have secured a spot in the grand finals for the fourth time in just as
many years.

And this year’s big game is shaping up to be one for the history books, featuring the Telecom War for the first time ever.
Moreover, LoL Worlds 2025 finals will feature two Korean teams for the fourth time ever and the first time since 2022, when DRX completed their Cinderella Story by beating no other than T1 on map five.

The KT Rolster vs T1 grand final is scheduled for Sunday, November 9. According to the best LoL betting sites, T1 are $1.50
favorites to win the series and win their sixth and third consecutive title.

Meanwhile, KT Rolster will battle for their first Summoner’s Cup after reaching the final four for the first time in the
organization’s history.
