League of Legends Worlds 2025 anthem ‘Sacrifice’ is out

The wait for the League of Legends Worlds 2025 anthem came to an end on Monday, with the release of “Sacrifice” by G.E.M.

The anthem of this year’s tournament is accompanied by a cinematic music video. Set in space, the LoL Worlds anthem features players who converge towards the Summoner’s Cup while reliving some of their most iconic moments from past events.

Created in a bid to commemorate the tournament’s 15-year history, the music video includes clips of unforgettable plays and iconic players, such as Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok as Azir, Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk as Varus, Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok as Aatrox, Luka “Perkz” Perković as Lissandra, and Jian “Uzi” Zihao as Vayne.

The video concludes with a heartfelt tribute to former Fnatic player and Season 1 world champion, Maciej “Shushei” Ratuszniak, who passed away earlier this year.

The anthem was originally planned to be released on October 8. However, it was delayed due to last-minute edits, after Riot decided to remove Gabriël “Bwipo” Rau from the video following his controversial public comments regarding female esports players.

Due to the delay, the LoL Worlds 2025 anthem was released just one day ahead of the play-in match between China’s and Korea’s fourth-seeded teams, Invictus Gaming and T1.

The winner of the best-of-five series will join 16 teams in the Swiss Stage, which begins on Wednesday, October 15. The main event will conclude on October 25 and lead into the knockout stage, set for October 28 – November 9.
