The new VG Dota 2 roster combines familiar veterans with fresh energy, signalling a serious push to restore VG’s place among China’s top-tier Dota 2 squads.
The team will make its comeback at the FISSURE Playground 2 invitational event on October 23, marking their first official competition since the relaunch. However, the team’s fourth position player pyw (Xiong Jiahan) will miss the event due to his wedding. He will be temporarily replaced by planet (Lin Hao), who steps in as a stand-in.
VG extended its best wishes to pyw on his marriage and expressed gratitude to planet for his support, emphasising their renewed commitment to Chinese Dota with the declaration: “Sharpen our blades — our spirit will never fade! For CN Dota, we fight once more!”
The comeback is expected to be one of the biggest storylines in Chinese Dota this year, reigniting memories of VG’s past successes at The International and other major Dota 2 tournaments.
Esports betting sites are yet to release any odds for the Fissure event, beginning in just under a fortnight, with these expected to drop when the fixture is finalized.
