All 25 events at the 2025 Esports World Cup are now either completed or underway, with Counter-Strike 2 and Street Fighter 6 joining CrossFire on the second day of Week 7. While the leading CrossFire teams secured playoff spots, several of Counter-Strike’s biggest names were knocked out on the tournament’s opening day.

Day 2 of the CrossFire Esports World Cup featured both elimination and winners’ matches across all four groups on Wednesday, August 20.
By the end of the day, Al Qadsiah, Qing Jiu Club, Evolution Power, and AG.AL had secured their places in the playoffs. On the other side, Twisted Minds, EVOS Esports, Inner Circle Esports, and Virtus.pro were eliminated from the tournament.

The Counter-Strike 2 Esports World Cup opened with shock eliminations and tightly contested series. Defending champions Natus Vincere and Team Spirit, widely regarded as the world’s best CS2 team, were both knocked out after defeats to 3DMAX and HEROIC, respectively.
Astralis and FaZe Clan also bowed out on the opening day, each suffering 1-2 series losses to TYLOO and Aurora Gaming, respectively.
Each of the 48 players at the Street Fighter 6 Esports World Cup played their opening-round matches on the first day of the tournament. After claiming victories in their opening matches, the two winners clashed in the first advancement series of the group stage.
