OpTic Gaming added to their win streak on Saturday, when they took down the Esports World Cup 2025 favourites 100 Thieves with 250-116 on Hardpoint—Skyline, 3-0 on Control—Hacienda, and 250-193 on Hardpoint—Rewind.

It was another superb display from the reigning CoD League champions, but mainly Brandon “Dashy” Otell and Mason “Mercules” Ramsey, who ended the match with 1.29 and 1.33 K/D, respectively.

Team Heretics have done just as well on their road to the final four, beating Project 7 Esports, FaZe Clan, and Boston Breach, with a combined map record of 9-2. However, despite Heretics’ success, it is easy to see why the top CoD betting sites have OpTic priced as favourites.

OpTic are undefeated on Hardpoint, have a 66.7% win rate on Search & Destroy, and are near-perfect on Control, with just one loss on Hacienda. While Heretics can be a threat on Search & Destroy, their firepower is not at OpTic’s level, and it should show on respawns.

KOI vs VANCOUVER SURGE

KOI made the EWC 2025 semifinals without major issues. However, they haven’t had a very tough schedule, having beaten Boston Breach, Team Falcons, and OMiT, the latter in the first round of the knockout stage.

Despite avoiding all top contenders, KOI deserve praise, as they have been playing well, especially Joseph “JoeDeceives” Romero, who is holding a 1.32 K/D average this tournament.

Vancouver Surge had an easy quarterfinal match, where they faced FiveFears and won 3-0. Still, they’ve already proven their worth earlier in the tournament, beating Team Orchid and 100 Thieves in a closely contested five-map series.

Vancouver Surge defeated KOI (Toronto Ultra) 3-0 in the CDL Championship elimination round 2, and they have since not shown any signs of slowing down. Another victory for the Surge is on the cards.
