League of Legends team Bilibili Gaming have announced the departure of jungler Yan “Wei” Yangwei following the conclusion of LoL Pro League (LPL) 2025 Split 2.

Wei joined the Chinese outfit in July from Royal Never Give Up as a replacement for Peng “XUN” Lixun, shortly after BLG’s disappointing fifth-eighth finish in the 2024 Esports World Cup.

The 22-year-old has since kept his spot on the Bilibili Gaming lineup, helping the team win the LPL Summer 2024 title and a silver medal from the LoL World Championship.

Despite a promising start to his stint, the team struggled to perform in the first split of the 2025 LPL season, ending in fourth place.

Things did not improve in LPL 2025 Split 2, where Bilibili Gaming sat at 4-5 five weeks in and looked in real danger of missing out on a top-four spot in Group Ascend.

The shaky start to the split ushered an abrupt roster change, with ex-ThunderTalk Gaming jungler Yang “Beichuan” Ling replacing Wei in the lineup at the start of May.

Wei has not featured since, and he had to watch from the sidelines as BLG won eight of their next nine fixtures to secure a fourth-place finish and a spot in the knockout stage of the playoffs.

Bilibili Gaming eventually fell to Anyone’s Legend in the LPL 2025 Split 2 finals, and that deep run after such an indifferent start to the campaign appears to have sealed Wei’s fate.

In his final split with Bilibili Gaming, Wei averaged a 52.2% win rate, 3.3 KDA, and 6.3 CS per minute.

The two-time Mid-Season Invitational champion now enters free agency, where he will search for a new home before the start of the final split in late July.
