PGL announced the full list of Counter-Strike 2 teams that will attend PGL Astana 2026 Closed Qualifiers, which kick off at the end of the month across four regions.

Set to kick off on May 7, PGL Astana 2026 will welcome 16 squads, 12 of which have received direct invites based on their position on the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) as of the March update.

The remaining four slots will be filled by teams who will fight their way through the regional qualifiers, held in Europe, North America, South America, and Asia.

The four closed qualifiers will run in parallel between March 31 and April 3, each featuring eight teams – except for the Asian closed qualifiers, which will welcome only the winners of the East Asian, West Asian, and Oceanic qualifiers.

While the Asian PGL Astana closed qualifier will feature only the champions of regional qualifiers, the European, North American, and South American events will consist of four invited teams and four teams that advance through the open stage.

This Saturday, PGL announced the 12 teams that accepted their invites to the PGL Astana closed qualifiers across the three regions.

The North American invites include LAG, FarmVille, Zomblers, and Outfit 49, while the South American qualifiers will feature ODDIK, LP, Fake do Biru, and 9z Team.

K27, illwill, HOTU, and 100 Thieves were confirmed to attend the European qualifiers and fight for the ticket leading to the big event.

While the Asian closed qualifiers will not feature direct invites, the sub-qualifiers across Oceania, West Asia, and East Asia will.

As revealed, The Huns and Chinggis Warriors will be in attendance in the East Asian qualifier, DEPO and Legion will compete in the West Asian qualifiers, whereas SemperFi and Mindfreak will compete to represent the Oceanic region.

PGL Astana, scheduled for later this year, will be the seventh Tier-1 CS2 esports tournament of the year, succeeding Intel Extreme Masters Atlanta.

The previous iteration of the event, held in May 2025, was won by Team Spirit, who are confirmed to attend and defend their title in this year’s PGL Astana.
