Nemiga Gaming announced on Thursday, February 20, that Aliaksandr “1eeR” Nahorny is back on the active Counter-Strike 2 roster as an in-game leader.

1eeR replaces Aleksandr “shalfey” Marenov, whose loan spell with Neimga was cut short after just 10 days.

During his short stay with the team, shalfey has appeared in just one event. He led the team at the PGL Bucharest Europe open qualifier, where Nemiga defeated MANA eSports and Lilmix but lost in the quarterfinals to mix52.

The returning Ukrainian IGL was the longest-standing member of Nemiga, having joined the team in August 2022.

He remained on the active roster until January 6, when Nemiga benched and transfer listed 1eeR, alongside Kirill “Xant3r” Kononov, who has since joined TDK.

1eeR’s stay on the bench, however, was short-lived, as Nemiga realised that the process of adjusting to a new in-game leader would require significantly more time than the team could afford.

“1eeR returns as an IGL as he’s fully familiar with team structure and coach’s requirements,” read the statement.

With Nemiga’s in-game leader back on the roster, the CIS squad are ready for their next competitive endeavour at META Cup Season 4.

Set to kick off on February 21, the Kazakh tournament will feature 11 Counter-Strike 2 teams, battling for the lion’s share of US$10,000 prize pool.

1eeR’s first game back will be against DEPO, in the first round of Group A, on the opening day of the tournament.
