MidOne returned to pro Dota 2 for Tundra Esports in the PGL Wallachia Season 4 playoffs, standing in for 33 in a tough loss to Team Liquid.
Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng ended a six-month hiatus from pro play and returned to the arena on Thursday, April 24, when the Malaysian Dota 2 player served as a stand-in for Tundra Esports in the PGL Wallachia Season 4 playoffs.
The PGL Wallachia Season 4 playoffs kicked off on Thursday when the remaining eight teams began their quest to claim the trophy and the lion’s share of the $1,000,000 prize pool.
Among the eight playoff squads are Tundra Esports, who fought their way to the double-elimination through the Swiss Stage with wins against HEROIC, Shopify Rebellion, and Team Falcons.
In case you were wondering why we have a special guest…Midone has graciously stepped in to help the team while Moon is away.
And that's not all! If we make it to playoffs, he will be standing in for a couple of days in place of 33. pic.twitter.com/WpocWX5YJ4

However, the roster Tundra Esports field in the knockout stage is different from the one which helped them get there.
Earlier this week, Tundra Esports announced that if they make playoffs, they will field MidOne instead of Neta “33” Shapira in the offlane position.
The 28-year-old Dota 2 veteran has been with the team for a few days before, filling in for Tundra’s coach, David “MoonMeander” Tan, during Tundra’s group stage campaign.
While the reason behind 33 not being able to play in the playoffs has not been disclosed, his absence meant MidOne could return to action for the first time in six months.
MidOne played his last professional match in October 2024, when he served as a stand-in for Tundra Esports at PGL Wallachia Season 2 and helped the Western European squad finish third.
His return to action, however, did not have a happy ending, as Tundra Esports had to admit defeat to Team Liquid in the upper bracket quarterfinal.
In his first match back, MidOne averaged a K/D/A score of 11/23/26, playing as Abaddon, Brewmaster, and Sand King.
Despite the defeat, Tundra Esports remain in the battle for their third tournament trophy of the season.
They will need to complete the long lower-bracket run, which will begin on Friday when MidOne and co. clash with NAVI Junior.
