Luminosity Gaming, the North American team has withdrawn from the VALORANT competition for the “foreseeable future,” as earlier stated by the organization. The roster will continue to compete in NA VCT Challengers Stage Two under the organization’s brand. However, Luminosity will seek a new place for the roster.
Kaleb “moose” Jayne, Will “dazzLe” Loafman, Tanner “TiGG” Spanu, Adam “mada” Pampuch, Brandon Michael “bdog” Sanders, and head coach Jared “mac” Schneider comprise the Luminosity roster. The organization entered the VALORANT landscape in August of 2020 and has subsequently severed ties with all its initial roster members. After joining VALORANT, Luminosity only won a few smaller titles and never participated in an international competition.
In a press release by the North American team, it was made clear that its exit from VALORANT was a difficult decision to pull through with. And also, it will still be open to participating in other ventures by Riot Games.
Hence, Luminosity Gaming is optimistic about the new modifications Riot has up its sleeves for next year’s events. The organization has also stated that it will continue to support and participate in esports events while rooting for the championship.

“Exiting VALORANT is not an easy decision for us. We look forward to Riot’s upcoming structure for 2023, and we do not rule out the opportunity to participate in VALORANT esports again down the road.”
Riot apparently had a meeting with teams to discuss the partnership deal for 2023, just days prior to the North American organization’s plan to depart from VALORANT esports. The briefing revealed last week that eight to ten teams from the North American, Brazilian, and Latin American leagues will receive direct invites in the coming year. In the next few months, the companies will apply for the opportunity to become Riot’s partners.
Given that they are restricted free agents, it looks like perhaps the players and officials of Luminosity are willing to join a new company rather than part ways.

Luminosity has a 2-1 record in Group B of the NA VCT Challengers Stage Two. The top four teams from each of the two 6 groups will proceed to the double-elimination playoffs, and the winners will earn a spot in the July VCT Masters Two Copenhagen.
