With a 9-5 record, JD Gaming are already locked in for the playoffs, whereas Rare Atom are still technically alive, but they need to get up to nine wins, meaning they either need to defeat JD Gaming on Thursday or upset the reigning LoL world champions, EDward Gaming on Saturday. That’s not an easy task, but we wouldn’t write off Rare Atom just yet.
Priced as +125 underdogs, Rare Atom seem to have a decent chance to defeat JD Gaming, and you could argue that JDG likely won’t care too much about winning, making it much easier for RA to clinch the crucial win. But we don’t see that happening.
JDG theoretically aren’t playing for anything, but they’ll want to keep the momentum going and head into the playoffs in good form. They’ve won four straight games against Ultra Prime, Victory Five, LNG Esports, and ThunderTalk and have looked increasingly stronger as the season started nearing the end. Moreover, seeding in the Chinese playoffs is extremely important due to its unique bracket, so we can be sure JDG will want to get up to 11 wins.
JD Gaming are clearly a stronger team and should take down Rare Atom with relative ease. But we wouldn’t bet on them to cover the map handicap since Rare Atom are good enough to put up a fight.
JD Gaming to win

Team WE and ThunderTalk Gaming are already out of the playoff race and are currently two of the worst-performing teams in the league. WE have won only three of 14 outings (3-11), whereas TT Gaming put together just two.
However, while WE and TT are clearly in a terrible spot, Team WE have looked much better of late and enter this match on a two-game winning streak. They took down Invictus Gaming (2-1) and Royal Never Give Up (2-0), which is seriously impressive, and it only goes to show that WE could have been a playoffs team had they not been dealing with COVID issues.
ThunderTalk were not nearly as impressive in their recent outings, and we have yet to see anything from them that would suggest they’re anything more than a bottom team. This game doesn’t matter, so we won’t expect either to go all out, but Team WE are clearly working on redeeming themselves, so it’s not too crazy to expect them to stomp TT Gaming.
