Weibo Gaming lost their second fixture of the LoL World Championship 2024 on Sunday against G2 Esports without showing anything remarkable. G2 Esports took a huge lead early, threw it back, and eventually closed the game with solid neutral objective control. Weibo Gaming did not play poorly on the day, but they weren’t great – which has been the theme of this squad for most of the season.
Fnatic got stomped by Top Esports in Round 3, and they were not particularly great in their other defeat against Dplus KIA either. Losing against two elite teams does not spell the end of the world, but Fnatic have not looked stable and their early game has been weaker than throughout the season.
Weibo Gaming are the better team, but not by much, and arguably not nearly as much as the latest betting odds suggest. Fnatic struggle closing out games and are flawed, but so are Weibo Gaming, who are terrible at playing defensively.
This has the potential to be a scrappy affair.

GAM Esports upset MAD Lions in the last round despite getting run over on the first map. The Vietnamese squad ground out the second map with their scaling composition and stomped MAD Lions on the third to keep their dreams of reaching the playoffs alive.
Team Liquid won a fairly competitive game against paiN Gaming on Monday and did an excellent job at responding to everything the Brazilian squad threw at them. Even against Weibo Gaming, Liquid performed well, so unlike most other teams in this bracket, Liquid have shown some good things.
The North American side are better across the board; however, their wins tend to have low kill totals, whereas GAM Esports are one of the bloodiest squads of the tournament with 27.8 combined kills per game.
This makes siding with the underdogs with a 5.5-kill advantage an appealing pick, albeit at $2.07 on Liquid to sweep with the best LoL betting sites makes more sense.
