Team Liquid finished the first third of LCS 2021 Summer with an underwhelming 5-4 record, and while they haven’t lost against any team outside of the elite four, that’s not a good excuse for a roster whose goal is to win the title. Team Liquid are good but not great, and that’s about as high as we can rank them ahead of the fourth week of play.
Counter Logic Gaming struggled to find their footing early into the summer season, but then something clicked ahead of LCS 2021 Summer Week 3. CLG went on to defeat 100 Thieves, Evil Geniuses and Dignitas, which is quite impressive for a team of this calibre.
Team Liquid will remain without Barney “Alphari” Morris in the top lane, presenting CLG with an obvious weak point to take advantage of. Although we wouldn’t like to overreact to CLG’s three-game winning streak, this roster is experienced and good enough to put up a show on Saturday. Take the underdogs with a kill handicap.
Counter Logic Gaming +7.5 kills
FLYQUEST vs DIGNITAS LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Dignitas seemed like a far more consistent team than FlyQuest, however, they have recently benched their best player in Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett and replaced him with their academy jungler Matthew “Akaadian” Higginbotham. The decision was not performance-related since Dardoch is a much better player, but it instead had something to do with Dardoch’s toxicity.
Without Dardoch, Dignitas lost to TSM and Counter Logic Gaming. They are now 14-13 on the season and on a four-game losing streak, which isn’t too promising, however, it’s not like FlyQuest have been performing much better of late.
FlyQuest are 9-18 on the season and 3-6 on the split with wins against CLG, Evil Geniuses and TSM. Like Dignitas, however, FlyQuest are on a four-game losing streak.
Without Dardoch, the gap between FlyQuest and Dignitas isn’t as big as it should have been, so it doesn’t make much sense to side with either team at the provided odds. Instead, we like a bet on over 12.5 towers, which should be easily achievable as long as one side doesn’t implode and gets stomped.
Over 12.5 towers
100 THIEVES vs CLOUD9 LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Cloud9’s form this split was anything but convincing. They finished the first three weeks of play with a 4-5 record and enter this match on a three-game losing streak. However, as unconvincing as C9 have been so far, they are bound to look better this week.
As revealed by the reigning LCS champions, their star ADC Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen is back on the starting lineup while Calvin “k1ng” Truong returns to the academy roster. Even though k1ng performed well, Zven is still a better and more experienced player who should prove to be an upgrade.
100 Thieves have been playing like the best LCS team, but there are reports of internal struggles – which was somewhat confirmed with their 0-21 loss to CLG on Friday. Although rumours are rarely true, their showing that day is enough for us to view C9 as a better team, albeit only slightly.
The volatility of the current meta makes almost all games between two capable teams a coin-flip, so it doesn’t make much sense to pick a side at odds below $2.00. However, since we expect a close affair, a bet on over 23.5 kills makes more sense.
Over 23.5 kills
EVIL GENIUSES vs TSM LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

LoL Betting Odds: | EG +140 at BetOnline | TSM -188.68 at BetOnline |

Evil Geniuses are an extremely volatile team who you don’t know what to expect from. They’ll lose against a bottom-three team one day and slap around one of the LCS title favourites the next. It’s been like that for the entire 2021 season, and EG have yet to show anything that would suggest they have changed their style.
This makes EG a perfect pick when they’re priced as an underdog. As unpredictable and overly aggressive as they can be, EG still have a very stacked roster, featuring former world champions, LCS champions, and league MVPs.
This prediction is not so much about how good TSM have are, but more about how high EG’s ceiling is. Assuming EG have a 50/50 chance of defeating any team in the league – which was more or less accurate last split (10-8) – you don’t have to think twice before picking them when priced at even money or better.
