FURIA are reportedly set to bench Felipe “skullz” Medeiros from their active Counter-Strike 2 lineup in preparation for the second new arrival of the year.

The news comes amid a rough stretch for the Brazilian team, who have not come close to winning a tournament since the turn of the year.

To find more traction, FURIA already signed Danil “molodoy” Golubenko from AMKAL ESPORTS at the start of the month, and according to new reports, Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis first in line to replace skullz.

The 23-year-old joined FURIA in July 2024 following a promising run with Team Liquid, where he averaged a 1.02 performance rating with a 62.7% map win rate.

However, skullz failed to display the same individual form under FURIA’s banner, averaging a 0.99 rating during his nine-month tenure.

Since the turn of the year, FURIA have attended five tournaments, including four S-Tier events, but never reached the knockout stage.

In March, FURIA exited BLAST Open Spring 2025 in last place with defeats against Natus Vincere and M80, while they finished PGL Bucharest in 12th-14th place.

Although yet to be officially confirmed, YEKINDAR is expected to take over for skullz and return to the Tier 1 scene for the first time since he was removed from Liquid’s active roster at the end of 2024.

Since his benching, YEKINDAR has featured in a couple of smaller events and attended some PGL Bucharest 2025 qualifiers with Roler Coaster, averaging a 1.20 performance rating at the European Qualifier.
