FlyQuest have finalized the signing of sniper João “story” Vieira, who joins the Oceanic Counter-Strike 2 team as a replacement for the recently departed Iulian “regali” Harjău.

FlyQuest announced the news on Monday, January 5, a day after they benched and transfer listed regali.

Story’s arrival at FlyQuest has been rumored before, and the reports were further confirmed by SAW’s recent decision to put their entire roster up for sale.

Shortly after SAW’s decision to disband their lineup, Christopher “MUTiRiS” Fernandes, Adones “krazy” Nobre, and António “aragornN” Barbosa were all acquired by BC.Game Esports. Meanwhile, story reportedly already reached an agreement with FlyQuest at the time.

The 23-year-old puts on FlyQuest’s jersey after a successful five-year stint with the Portuguese team.

Notably, he helped SAW reach the semifinals of Intel Extreme Masters Cologne and won ESL Challenger Katowice in 2024. Last season, his highlights included a top-four finish at FISSURE Playground #1 and a bronze medal from PGL Masters Bucharest.

Besides the team’s accomplishments, story also performed well individually, averaging a 1.11 performance rating since joining SAW in July 2022.

With the arrival of the young player, FlyQuest will hope to introduce new energy to the team, which struggled last season.

They have managed only one tournament title, at BLAST Asia Risings Ulaanbaatar 2025, but failed to leave a lasting mark in any of the bigger events, ending the year with a 23rd-24th place finish at StarLadder Budapest Major.

Currently ranked nbo.32 in the global Valve Regional Standings (VRS), FlyQuest have failed to secure direct invites for any upcoming big events. However, they have one tournament lined up for later this month.

FlyQuest are set to debut their new AWPer at a $42,000 tournament, Zhi-Tech Elite Masters, slated to begin on January 23.
