Eternal Fire removed three players from the active roster on Sunday, January 4, as the Turkish Counter-Strike 2 team enters a rebuilding phase.

As of Sunday, Ömer “imoRR” Karataş, Berat “jresy” Özcan, and Baha “lugseN” Emir Şengül are no longer on Eternal Fire’s active roster, the Turkish team announced.

The big changes follow a long stretch of underwhelming results for Eternal Fire, who ended the 2025 season with a lengthy title drought that began with the departure of their previous lineup to Aurora Gaming in April.

Over that stretch, EF have been experimenting with roster changes, with lugseN and jresy being moved in and out of the main roster three times.

However, despite all the experiments, including fielding a full Turkish and international roster, Eternal Fire have not been able to gain any traction.

They have been steadily sliding down the global rankings and entered the winter break ranked no.136 in the global standings.

LungseN ends his three-month stint with Eternal Fire with an average performance rating of 0.95, slightly below jresy, who averaged 1.00.

Meanwhile, imoRR, who returned to Eternal Fire’s main lineup in May, has since averaged a 1.03 rating.

With the benching of three players, EF are down to Emrecan “EMSTAR” Çalışkan, Buğra “Calyx” Arkın, and coach Kadir “ElPrincipe” Sivri as the only active members of the roster.

While there have been no announcements of new arrivals yet, Eternal Fire are expected to unveil their new lineup in the coming week, before their next competitive endeavour at European Pro League Series 4.
