The final event of the fourth week at the 2025 Esports World Cup kicked off on Thursday, July 31, as Overwatch 2 commenced in the Qiddiya Arena. Along with Overwatch, Chess and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang were featured on the day, while the PUBG Mobile World Cup took a day off before the grand finals begin.

The Overwatch 2 Esports World Cup kicked off on Thursday, with the first three matches taking place in each of the four groups. Following the day’s action, Crazy Raccoon, Al Qadsiah, T1 and Team Falcons secured their playoff spots after winning both of their series.

Friday’s matches will determine which other four teams will advance to the playoffs and which eight teams will be eliminated from the event.

On Thursday, the playoffs for the Chess Esports World Cup took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with all four quarterfinals and the two semifinals being played on the day. After winning their way through either side of the bracket, Alireza Firouzja and Magnus Carlsen will meet in the best-of-three-sets (maximum 10 games) grand final.

With the quarterfinals in the books at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Esports World Cup, the semifinals are now set, with the final four squads being known. Team Liquid PH will face ONIC in the first semi before SRG.OG and ONIC Philippines clash.
