The Call of Duty Esports World Cup started on Thursday, with 16 of the world’s best CoD teams competing in a double-elimination group stage format. On the opening day of the event, three matches took place in each group, with one squad advancing to the playoffs with two straight wins.

In what was an eventful day at the StarCraft II Esports World Cup, the last four players advanced to the playoffs, and four quarterfinals headlined the day’s action. The outright betting favourite and defending champion, Clément “Clem” Desplanches, was eliminated from the tournament, which was the first massive surprise of the Esports World Cup in 2025.

StarCraft II EWC Playoff Bracket

The third and fourth quarterfinals at the Honor of Kings World Cup were held on Thursday, as TT Global faced Team Vitality and AG.AL clashed with Alpha7 Esports. Following the results, Team Vitality and Alpha7 Esports were eliminated from the tournament. Meanwhile, TT Global and AG.AL set up mouthwatering semifinal matches against Nova Esports and Twisted Minds, respectively.

Honor of Kings World Cup eliminated teams

After action from Group A at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Esports World Cup featured on Wednesday, the eight teams in Group B got their chance to kick off their campaign on Thursday.
