Team Vitality have claimed their fifth straight title in 2025 after defeating Team Falcons 3-2 in a pulsating BLAST Rivals Spring 2025 grand final.

The French-led powerhouse held firm in the deciding moments of an epic best-of-five series to keep their remarkable win streak alive—now standing at 25 consecutive matches, the second-longest in Counter-Strike 2 history.

The final went the distance in spectacular fashion, with both teams trading blows across Inferno (9-13), Dust2 (13-6), Train (13-6), Mirage (14-16), and Nuke (13-8).

Despite losing their 16-match win streak on Inferno, Vitality bounced back to dominate Dust2 and Train before being pushed to the limit on Mirage, where Falcons clinched victory in overtime.

But as they’ve done time and again, Vitality delivered under pressure—closing out the series on Nuke in convincing fashion.

“We played so well and so badly at the same time,” admitted Dan “apEX” Madesclaire after the match.

“But we won again on Nuke. It feels good.”

Much of the credit goes to their star-studded roster, with both Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut and Robin “ropz” Kool putting up 1.30 ratings across the five maps.

ZywOo tallied 90 kills and earned his 25th career MVP, while ropz produced 91 kills and the series-high 90 ADR.

Shahar “flameZ” Shushan’s entry work on Train was another key factor, especially in breaking open the counter-terrorist half.

Falcons, for their part, proved they’re no fluke.

Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov delivered a scintillating 92-kill performance, including a vital 1v2 clutch on Mirage that helped them stay alive in the series.

Though they fell just short again—mirroring their previous loss to Vitality at IEM Melbourne—kyxsan’s squad showed clear progress and growing synergy with m0NESY in the AWP role.

Vitality’s run of dominance is beginning to resemble an era.

With victories at IEM Katowice, ESL Pro League, IEM Dallas, IEM Melbourne (completing the ESL Grand Slam), and now BLAST Rivals, they’ve swept through the first half of the year with a level of consistency and composure rarely seen in Counter-Strike.

At this pace, and with ZywOo and ropz forming what’s quickly becoming one of the most potent duos in CS2 history, there’s every reason to believe the trophy haul isn’t stopping anytime soon.

As for Falcons, back-to-back grand final appearances show they’re knocking on the door.

If they can clean up some mid-round decision-making and find another gear in the clutch moments, they may yet be the team to finally halt Vitality’s reign.

The Counter-Strike world will now look ahead to PGL Astana, where 16 of the world’s best squads will compete throughout the week, while most of the top teams will have their focus on IEM Dallas, which is set to begin on Monday, May 19.
