Both teams are expected to go far in CDL Major 1; however, as the top CoD betting sites suggest, OpTic Texas are in a better position to come out on top on Saturday.
OpTic have yet to drop a game this season, whereas FaZe Vegas ended the first two weeks of play with a 2-1 record. They lost their opening match against the Los Angeles Thieves, but have since beaten Paris Gentle Mates and Toronto KOI, both on map five.
As seen early into the stage, FaZe are not great on respawns, which should give OpTic a serious advantage. Overload is winnable for FaZe, and they should do more than fine on Search & Destroy; however, even on those two modes, OpTic have not shown many weaknesses.
FaZe’s win condition is to steal at least one respawn, but that is easier said than done. OpTic are rightly the favorites for this match.

This marks the first match in which the Vancouver Surge will play with Thomas “TJHaLy” Haly in place of Sabri “Lqgend” Kaci. On the other side, Boston Breach decided not to make any changes for the second half of CDL 2026 Stage 1 Major Qualifiers.
Boston Breach looked solid in the first half of the qualifiers. They bested Carolina Royal Ravens and Minnesota G2, but fell against Riyadh Falcons before the winter break.
Unlike the Breach, who showed some signs of life, the Surge have yet to win a map. They completed the first two weekss of play with defeats against Paris Gentle Mates, Toronto KOI, and Cloud9 New York.
Vancouver Surge had a demanding schedule, but that’s no an excuse for the poor showings. Their Search & Destroy is not terrible, but Overload and Hardpoint are lacking.
It is hard to find a good reason to believe Surge can win. This is Boston Breach’s game to lose.

Paris Gentle Mates finished the first half of Major 1 qualifiers with a 2-1 record. They lost to FaZe Vegas on map five, but breezed past Los Angeles Thieves and Vancouver Surge.
This, combined with Gentle Mates’ strong pre-season performances, makes them a team to watch. Even though it is not fair to say that Paris Gentle Mates are up there with OpTic, they have looked excellent and should continue to terrorise mid- and bottom-table teams.
Cloud9 New York have shown some signs of life, but their losses to Miami Heretics and Minnesota G2 don’t inspire much confidence.
