Defending VCT EMEA champions Team Vitality will clash with GIANTX on Wednesday in what should be a very straightforward game for Vitality, who are billed as heavy favourites by top VALORANT betting sites.

Things, however, can go wrong for the Bees, who recently added two new players — Clément “CyvOph” Millard and Ștefan “Sayonara” Mîtcu — and benched Nikita “trexx” Cherednichenko. Not only has this roster yet to play an official VCT match, but Stage 1 will also feature new maps — Icebox and Ascent — which adds a bit more uncertainty.

GIANTX have kept their roster intact, so they will have better continuity. Kirill “Cloud” Nekhozhin and co. were not terrible in the Kickoff event, with two solid performances against BBL Esports and Karmine Corp.

This is Vitality’s game to lose, but at +162, it is hard to pass on GIANTX to take a map.

BBL Esports are priced as slight underdogs for their opening match of VCT 2025 EMEA Stage 1 against Karmine Corp, who had a very tough start to the season.

KC crashed out of the Kickoff event in the first round, so we did not see much from them. On the other side, BBL Esports placed top six, with two victories against GIANTX and Fnatic and a closely fought 1-2 loss against Team Liquid.

Even though there are arguments to be made in favour of Karmine Corp, who should have a much higher ceiling, there is no hiding that BBL Esports were the better team during the Kickoff tournament. There is nothing to suggest anything has changed.
