NRG placed third in the Swiss Stage with a 1-2 loss against Paper Rex and two 2-0 sweeps of XLG Esports and Team Liquid.
Despite losing one game, NRG have looked very good in the current meta, especially Georgio “keiko” Sanassy, who enters the playoffs as the tournament’s second-highest rated player at 1.30 performance rating.
BBL Esports won VCT EMEA, and for that alone, they deserve a lot of respect heading into their first match of Masters Santiago.
However, this is an inexperienced roster, and it showed in their best-of-five series against Gentle Mates.
The pressure and the lack of experience playing on a big stage could be factors, as will ring rust after being away from action for three weeks.
NRG are a more experienced roster, in great shape, and rightly viewed as favorites.

Despite winning VCT China, All Gamers are not considered a serious threat to win the Masters trophy, with the best VALORANT bookmakers pricing them as +350 underdogs to defeat G2 Esports on Saturday.
This comes as no surprise, as Chinese teams are less tested than squads from other regions, and VCT China, in general, is considered weak.
While some Chinese squads have managed standout performances in bigger events in the past, All Gamers, in particular, haven’t had the most promising run this season.
G2 Esports hit a small bump in the road during the Swiss Stage, as they got swept by Paper Rex in the first round.
However, they performed much better in their two victories against XLG Esports and T1, proving why they are among the top title contenders in Chile.
There is not much to analyze here.
All Gamers lack the individual talent G2 Esports have and enter this match rusty.
Anything less than a 2-0 sweep for the VCT Americas representatives will be a major disappointment.
