EDward Gaming, XLG Esports, and Dragon Ranger Gaming join Bilibili Gaming as VCT China’s representatives at VALORANT Champions 2025 in Paris.

EDward Gaming (EDG) became the second VCT China team to qualify for VALORANT Champions 2025 in Paris, joining Bilibili Gaming (BLG) after a dominant 2-0 win over TYLOO in the Stage 2 lower bracket on Thursday. The reigning Champions winner clinched enough VCT China Points with the victory, keeping hopes alive for a historic back-to-back title run.
EDG’s path to qualification wasn’t without hurdles. After lifting the Champions trophy in 2024, the Chinese powerhouse started the year strong by winning VCT China Kickoff and finishing third at Masters Bangkok. However, a mid-season slump followed the departure of Hsieh “S1Mon” Meng-hsun, and the team missed Masters Toronto during Stage 1. A late roster addition in Zhang “zjc” Juncheng and adjustments during Stage 2 paid off, as EDG bounced back to secure their Paris berth.
The team’s series against TYLOO began on Haven, where EDG’s surprise double-Duelist setup, including Zheng “ZmjjKK” Yongkang on Yoru, led to a 13-3 rout. ZmjjKK and Zhang “Jieni7” Juntai combined for 41 kills across the map. On Ascent, TYLOO briefly threatened with strong pistol rounds, but EDG held firm to close 13-11, maintaining their unbeaten record against TYLOO.
XLG Esports and Dragon Ranger Gaming (DRG) claimed the final two VCT China slots after XLG defeated All Gamers 2-1 in the day’s second lower-bracket clash. The win eliminated AG from contention, locking XLG and DRG into Champions based on points. Both squads—last year’s Ascension winners—now face a pivotal Stage 2 finish that will determine which team retains their VCT slot for 2026. The lower-ranked team after VALORANT Champions must return to Ascension.
This marks the first time two Chinese Ascension teams will attend VALORANT’s biggest stage, joining BLG and EDG as the region’s four representatives. They’ll battle for better seeding in the remaining Stage 2 matches before heading to Paris, where Champions 2025 runs from September 12 to October 10.
