Top Esports asserted their dominance over Team Liquid at the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational 2024, sending the LCS representative straight to the lower bracket.

Despite high hopes for Liquid, the first seed from NA, they were swiftly outmatched by the second seed from the LPL playing on their home turf.

As TES moves forward in the tournament, questions arise about their ability to replicate such dominant performances against other eastern teams.

TES will now await the winner between Gen.G Esports and Fnatic to determine their next opponent.

If Gen.G wins their debut match at MSI 2024 against Fnatic, Fnatic will face Team Liquid in the lower bracket, setting the scene for an electrifying NA vs. EU matchup that fans have long awaited.

Many had predicted that Liquid could prove to be too much for TES, especially since TES dropped one map against Fnatic in the play-in stage.

However, Liquid could barely get a foothold during all three matches as Top proved to be too coordinated and efficient in taking objectives.

Liquid were kept to under 10 kills in all three games, showcasing TES superior macro play.

All three matches ended in under 30 minutes.

The first game saw TES take a comfortable lead, mowing down turrets with ease.

The second game looked even worse for Liquid as TES doubled down on their assault, with Lin “Creme” Jian’s Corki proving to be a major threat.

In the last match of the series, Wenbo “JackeyLove” Yu’s stellar performance on Lucian sealed the deal for Top, leaving Liquid with no chance of a comeback.

MSI 2024 will continue Wednesday (5pm CST) as Gen.G Esports clashes with Fnatic in the opening round of the bracket stage.
