Thunderpick World Championship 2025 Closed Qualifiers begin with four best-of-three fixtures on Tuesday, September 9, featuring several of the top 30 teams on the Valve Regional Standings (VRS).
A single-elimination bracket leaves no room for error, adding a pinch of excitement for Counter-Strike 2 fans. Beyond offering three days of top-tier action, the Thunderpick World Championship qualifiers will also provide a few exciting betting opportunities to explore.
Here are our previews and top picks for the first day of action, with esports odds courtesy of the best bookmakers in United States.
Best Odds: ECSTATIC +110 at SportsBetting | PARIVISION -151.52 at SportsBetting
When: September 9, 2025 | 10:00 CEST

ECSTATIC and PARIVISION clashed in August during European StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2025 qualifiers, when PARIVISION won 2-1. It was a close game, with the first map extending to 47 rounds before PARIVISION completed a reverse-sweep with 13-10 on Dust II and 13-9 on Inferno.
ECSTATIC have since signed Frederik “acoR” Gyldstrand, who has yet to debut. This is not optimal, and it does not help figure out how good the new-look Danish lineup is.
While ECSTATIC are a bit of an enigma, PARIVISION are in great shape, having won 10 out of their last 11 games. Over that stretch, they have taken out European ESL Challenger League Season 50 Europe Cup #1 and the StarLadder StarSeries Fall qualifiers.
PARIVISION are rightly priced as favorites with Counter-Strike 2 betting sites.
Best Odds: SAW -138.89 at SportsBetting | BIG +100 at BetOnline
When: September 9, 2025 | 13:00 CEST

These teams face off for the first time since January, when BIG won in the first round of BLAST Bounty Spring qualifiers. Despite their success last time out, the Germans enter this match priced as underdogs on the best esports betting sites.
BIG recently replaced their coach and added David “prosus” Hesse from the academy lineup. Those changes came after a long stretch of underwhelming results, as they have won just one tournament this season: DACH CS Masters Season 3.
SAW have not won an event this year either, but they made the semifinals of FISSURE Playground #1 in July and CCT Season 3 European Series #4 last month.
It is fair to question how long BIG will need to gel with new members. But even without those changes, SAW would be viewed as the most likely victors.
Best Odds: Legacy -454.55 at BetOnline | JiJieHao +300 at SportsBetting
When: September 9, 2025 | 16:00 CEST
Watch Live: Twitch
JiJieHao will look to build on their solid showing at CCT Season 3 European Series #5 last month, when they reached the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, Legacy will hope to improve on their efforts at BLAST Bounty and BLAST Open Fall.
Despite not making it far in either tournament, Legacy have at least practiced against much stronger teams. And they have had a chance to do so for the last three months, including appearances at Intel Extreme Masters Dallas and the BLAST.tv Austin Major.
JiJieHao have been competing mostly in lower-tier events, and even there, they’ve not found much success, going 2-6 from their last eight.
At -111.11, Legacy to sweep is a fair offer.
Best Odds: BB -333.33 at SportsBetting | 9z +240 at BetOnline
When: September 9, 2025 | 19:00 CEST

BetBoom Team have done well in the past month. They won Exort The Proving Grounds Season 3 and CCT Season 3 European Series #5 and added a silver medal from European ESL Challenger League Season 50 Cup #1.
9z Team lifted their last trophy in the second South American Thunderpick World Championship series. However, they also placed second in CCT Season 3 South American Series #3 and the South American ESL Challenger League Cup.
While 9z Team deserve praise for their accomplishments, they’ve had a softer schedule compared to BB Team and have not been as consistent. However, that does not explain why 9z are +240.
CS2 betting sites are offering -151.52 on 9z Team to take a map, which is a generous offer considering they hold a better win rate on Mirage (40% vs 38%), Inferno (67% vs 0%), and Train (86% vs 43%).
