Team Falcons will miss coach zonic and star player kyousuke at BLAST Bounty Winter 2026, weakening their chances in the LAN finals.

Team Falcons announced on Monday, January 19, that their Counter-Strike 2 head coach, Danny “zonic” Sørensen will miss the LAN stage of BLAST Bounty Winter 2026. The announcement comes a couple of days after the Danish strategist stated on social media that he found out about the sudden passing of his brother and that he flew back home to be with the family.
In the original announcement, zonic stated that he would be back as soon as possible. However, he will not be ready to help his team in the final stage of the tournament.
Besides losing zonic for BLAST Bounty Winter Finals, Team Falcons will also be without their star player, Maxim “kyousuke” Lukin. The 17-year-old will not appear in the LAN stage due to visa complications. In place of kyousuke, Tea Falcons will field academy player, Matej “NucleonZ” Trajkoski.
By missing their coach and kyousuke, Team Falcons enter the playoffs weakened, which harms their chances of securing the first S-Tier tournament of 2026.
The Falcons have had a great run so far this tournament, beating ECSTATIC and Monte with two clean sweeps. However, now that the competition heats up, they are missing key pieces, putting a huge question mark above Team Falcons and their chances to go all the way.
The BLAST Bounty Winter Finals will feature a stacked field of teams, including FURIA, Team Falcons, Team Vitality, GamerLegion, Team Spirit, Team Liquid, PARIVISION, and HEROIC. FURIA, Falcons, Team Vitality, and Team Spirit have all been placed in separate brackets and are awaiting re-seeding.
The top Counter-Strike 2 betting sites have yet to release markets for the upcoming games, but those should become available in the coming days, before the first round of play kicks off on January 22.
