On Sunday in Riyadh, Team Falcons capped a perfect night with a 4–0 sweep of Al Qadsiah, securing the Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS) Midseason Championship at the 2025 Esports World Cup. Kim “Proper” Dong-hyun took MVP honors as Falcons completed a redemption run from the Last Chance Qualifier to the top step.

Team Falcons didn’t just win the OWCS Midseason Championship—they removed the doubt around who sets the pace in Overwatch right now. Entering from the LCQ and coached by Kim “SP9RK1E” Yeong-han, Falcons leaned on the front-line control of Ham “SOMEONE” Jeong-wan and the precision of Choi “MER1T” Tae-min, with Proper tying it together as the series’ standout.

Team Falcons win 2025 OWCS Midseason Championship

A raucous crowd inside the Qiddiya Arena rode every momentum spike as hometown favorites, Team Falcons, closed the door on Circuit Royal to complete the sweep.

The maps told a clear story. Lijiang Tower went 2–0 as Falcons owned first fights and ultimate timings. On Esperança, they played the space patiently, bleeding time and pressure for a 1–0 push. New Junk City showed their balance—clean escort setups and airtight retakes for a 3–0 win. Circuit Royal finished 1–0, with sightlines denied and cart progress starved. Across four maps, Falcons were calmer, cleaner, and quicker to punish.

For Al Qadsiah, the run to the final was real progress and a useful measuring stick. For Falcons, it felt like closure. They were runners-up at April’s Champions Clash, and now they’ve returned to the biggest stage of Overwatch esports and left no oxygen in the room.

Proper’s MVP sealed it, but the blueprint—disciplined fights, low-error rotations, and trust in win conditions—looks repeatable. With Stage 3 ahead, everyone else is chasing their standard.
