Imperial Esports announced the benching of Felipe “skullz” Medeiros on Tuesday, February 24, just six months after his arrival.
Skullz joined Imperial Counter-Strike 2 roster in August 2025 as a replacement for José “shr” Gil. Since his arrival, skullz has attended 14 events with Imperial, including StarLadder Budapest Major.
At the Major, the Brazilian team made their way through the first two stages, ultimately crashing out in Stage 3 with losses to FURIA, Team Falcons, and Passion UA.
Since then, skullz has not featured in a single big event, and just five this season. That includes Ace South American Masters Spring, where Imperial reached the semifinals.
During his six-month stay at Imperial, skullz has averaged a 1.01 performance rating. That was far below the expectations, after the 23-year-old posted 1.00 ratings at Team Liquid and FURIA, between 2023 and 2025.
With the benching of skullz and the previous departure of Santino “try” Rigal to Passion UA on February 13, the Brazilian team is down to just three active players.
Imperial now have just two days to find replacements ahead of their next competitive endeavour at PGL Bucharest South American Qualifier.
Their first match of the qualifiers is scheduled for Thursday, February 26, when Imperial will face off against Keyd Stars in the upper bracket quarterfinals.
While Imperial have not hinted at who will take over for skullz, some reports suggest they’ve set their eyes on Guilherme “levi” Gustavo and Lucas “decenty” Bacelar, who is said to return after leaving for Fluxo in July.
