North American Counter-Strike 2 team Nouns Esports have announced the departure of William “RUSH” Wierzba and Eric “adreN” Hoag following their recent failed run in the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 qualifier.
The news comes less than a month after Nouns Esports exited the North American BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 qualifiers in last place.
In the qualifiers, Nouns Esports were seeded in Group B alongside Wildcard, NRG, and Marsborne and failed to collect a single victory – losing to NRG and Marsborne without winning a map.
The departure of RUSH and adreN does not come as a surprise, as the duo were absent from Nouns’ recent competitive endeavour at Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #1.
As confirmed, the two senior members decided to step away from Nouns Esports due to the discontinuation of the financial support for the team following the failure to qualify for the Austin Major.
Before the Major NA Regional Qualifier, Nouns Esports had been supported by a group of backers, but they recently decided to withdraw their support.
The situation puts a huge question mark above Nouns Esports and the team’s future; however, more information should follow this weekend.
A likely outcome would be the disbandment of the team, who have not found much success this season.
Since February, Nouns Esports have attended three tournaments and a handful of qualifiers, failing to leave a lasting mark.
Their best result of the season came at the start of this month when Nouns Esports placed second at Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #1.
Their other two tournament appearances – at CCT Season 2 North America Series #4 and Ace North American Masters Spring 2025 – both ended with fifth-eighth-place finishes.
Nouns are currently ranked 57th in the global Counter-Strike 2 standings and 61st in Valve’s rankings.
