On Tuesday, Natus Vincere (NaVi) announced that they are shutting down their women’s Counter-Strike 2 division, NaVi Javelins, citing the unsustainable business model of the female esports scene.

The announcement comes just weeks after the players posted on social media that they are allowed to explore their options for the 2025 esports season; however, none have joined a new team yet.

Formed in April 2022, NaVi Javelins entered the scene by signing a Polish squad, Totalne Gituwy, keeping the same lineup until early August 2024.

“We thank all the current team players, as well as Liina, LETi, and Danuu, for these incredible two years and all the victories under the NAVI banner. We hope the women’s CS2 scene continues its growth going forward,” read the announcement.

Since the team’s inception, the Polish squad have proven to be one of the world’s top women’s CS teams, collecting 15 trophies over the 20 months.

The list of accomplishments includes several ESL Impact tournament wins and the IESF Women’s World Championship 2022 trophy.

NaVi Javelins kept their Polish lineup until August 2024, when Karolina “Liina” Kasprzyk and Martyna “LETi” Owsik left the team to make room for Marta “D7” Asensio, formerly of Guild Esports, and in-game leader Mayline “ASTRA” Champliaud from NIP Impact.

Since the roster overhaul, NaVi Javelins have attended four tournaments and won just one—Tradeit League FE Masters #5. They ended the year with a semifinal run at ESL Impact League Season 6.

Natus Vincere’s decision to pull the plug on NaVi Javelins is a huge blow to the women’s esports scene, which has now lost another significant team, following the exodus of Virtus.pro, TSM, Astralis, and TSM.

Leaving NaVi Javelins are Hania “Hanka” Pudlis, Wiktoria “vicu” Janicka, Angelika “Angelka” Kozłowska, D7, ASTRA Champliaud, and coach Adrian “AlcesT” Chyziak.
