The second day of the League of Legends World Championship 2025 Round 3 is in the rearview mirror, featuring the final four best-of-one fixtures, which produced some intriguing results.
On Saturday, eight LoL esports teams clashed for a spot in the 2-1 bracket, with Gen.G Esports, G2 Esports, FlyQuest, and
Hanwha Life Esports making it out alive.
Meanwhile, 100 Thieves, Team Secret Whales, and last year’s finalists, T1 and Bilibili Gaming, dropped down to the 1-2 bracket, where they will fight for survival.
The day kicked off with a clash between FlyQuest and Team Secret Whales, which ended as expected.
Billed as firm favorites on the top LoL betting sites, FlyQuest brushed off the Vietnamese team in 32 minutes, setting
themselves up for a spot in an advancement match.
The day continued with an all-too-familiar clash between LoL Champions Korea (LCK) titans, Gen.G and T1, who faced off for the 10th time this season.
Yet the exciting affair lasted for just 27 minutes, which is how long Gen.G needed to blow up T1’s Nexus, handing the most
storied team of LoL Worlds a devastating loss.
The third game followed the trend of the last three LoL World Championships, pairing G2 Esports and Bilibili Gaming on the big stage.
However, while the Chinese squad entered the game with a perfect head-to-head record, it was G2 who triumphed on the wings of Rasmus “Caps” Winther’s Anivia.
While it marks the first time G2 Esports defeated Bilibili Gaming at LoL Worlds, it is the second year in a row in which Bilibili
have dropped to the 1-2 bracket.
After two highly entertaining matches, the focus shifted to a clash between Korea’s second seed, Hanwha Life Esports, and 100 Thieves.
Despite the chippy start to the event, Hanwha Life Esports made quick work of the LoL Champions of The Americas (LTA)
representatives. They needed less than 25 minutes to secure a point, setting a new fastest game of the tournament.
With those results, FlyQuest, Gen.G, G2 Esports, and Hanwha Life Esports will join Top Esports and Anyone’s Legend in the 2-1 bracket.
Meanwhile, Team Secret Whales, T1, Bilibili Gaming, and 100 Thieves drop down to 1-2, where they will be joined by the two
winners of Sunday’s games.
The spotlight now moves to the first pair of elimination matches, featuring a LEC derby between Fnatic and Movistar KOI and a clash between Vivo Keyd Stars and PSG Talon.
