Top Esports may have booked their spot at the League of Legends Worlds, but betting sites have priced them at +1600, ranking them an outside chance of winning the season-ending event
The China-based LoL franchise booked their ticket to the World Championship with a 3-1 win over Invictus Gaming in the LPL Regional Finals, with this win guaranteeing them a spot in the Swiss Stage, with it set to be hosted in their home country next month.
Gen.G is the outright favourite with esports betting sites to win the LoL Worlds event at (+150), ahead of Hanwha LIfe Esports (+225)and T1 (+300); but the most recent qualifier will take heart from their strong showing in qualifying.
The series started one-sided, with TES overwhelming IG in the opening game, conceding just two deaths across 32 minutes. Momentum suggested a clean sweep, but Invictus briefly revived their hopes in Game 3.
Veteran top laner Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok delivered a standout performance on Rek’Sai top, hinting at a possible comeback. However, IG’s gamble on off-meta draft choices quickly backfired. The most puzzling was placing Song “Rookie” Eui-jin on Lulu mid, a decision that echoed questionable support picks seen elsewhere in the Regional Finals.
TES capitalized on those mistakes, closing the series with authority. Their win reflects their strong late-season form and reinforces their status as one of China’s top hopes on the international stage. With the Regional Finals concluded, attention shifts to Worlds, where TES will join fellow LPL representatives Bilibili Gaming, JD Gaming, and LNG Esports in the global showdown.
The 2025 LoL Worlds is due to kick off on October 14 and culminate with the final on November 9.
