The final week of the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational 2025 kicked off with a lower bracket clash between Anyone’s Legend and CTBC Flying Oyster (CFO).
Following a tough 2-3 loss at the hands of Gen.G, Anyone’s Legend were seeking to keep their tournament campaign alive against a surprising challenger from the League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) in CTBC Flying Oyster.
CFO pushed T1 to five maps in the opening round of the Bracket Stage before dropping into the lower bracket to eliminate KOI with a 3-1 scoreline.
Heading into Monday’s do-or-die series, Anyone’s Legend (-400) was heavily favoured by esports betting sites to claim the match.
The League of Legends Pro League (LPL) top seed kicked off the best-of-five series with a strong 35-minute win, with Li “Flandre” Xuanjun (3/1/6 on Yorick) and Wang “Hope” Jie (5/1/7 on Jhin) headlining the win with huge KDA numbers.
In what was a back-and-forth second map, CFO appeared to be in position to even the score at 1-1. However, the late-game scaling on the side of Anyone’s Legend gave them the upper hand in team fights over key objectives, and they eventually took a 2-0 series lead inside 42 minutes.
CFO were determined to avoid a 3-0 sweep, and they bounced back in emphatic style, with a dominant 33-minute win on map three. Chiu “Doggo” Tzu-chuan (7/0/9 on Ezreal) finished the map without a death, and Tsai “hongQ” Ming-hong (6/2/6 on Orianna) continued to show why he is considered the best mid laner in the LCP.
Unfortunately for CFO fans, map four was the end of the road for the plucky underdogs, as Anyone’s Legend stomped CFO inside 30 minutes. It was Hope (5/0/8 on Jinx) once again, doing all the damage for the Chinese squad as they ran away with a 3-1 series triumph.
Anyone’s Legend now await the winner of Tuesday’s series between LPL counterparts Bilibili Gaming and FlyQuest from North America. Meanwhile, CFO’s record-breaking MSI campaign ends in the second round of the lower bracket, and they go home with their heads held high.
