LNG Esports v Weibo Gaming betting tips – LPL Summer Playoffs


LNG Esports and Weibo Gaming will meet in the League of Legends Pro League (LPL) 2023 Summer Playoffs on Tuesday, marking their first clash since Week 2 of the regular season. Weibo won that match 2-0, but according to the latest LoL betting odds, LNG Esports should come out ahead in the upcoming best-of-five series.

LNG Esports finished the regular season in third place, with a 12-4 record, two wins above Weibo Gaming, who placed sixth with a 63% series (10-6) win rate. The regular season results don’t necessarily mean much, but LNG Esports have shown more.

Both teams are very effective in gaining an early lead. LNG Esports were ahead at 20 minutes in 62.2% of their games, whereas Weibo Gaming held a gold lead at 20 in 64.1%. LNG proved to be more efficient in closing out those games (87%) than Weibo (84%).

There are other things to consider. Weibo Gaming have proved to be somewhat inconsistent when faced with weaker teams, but they have performed better against strong opposition. We saw a glimpse of that on Sunday when they nearly dropped two maps against the vastly inferior Ninjas in Pyjamas (3-1). Other examples include losses against FunPlus Phoenix (1-2) and Invictus Gaming (0-2) across the final three weeks of the split.

LNG Esports are the exact opposite. They take care of business against weaker teams but don’t look as good against strong opponents, which is because LNG rely a lot on gaining early leads.

Seeing Weibo Gaming priced as underdogs make some sense since they have suffered a few bad losses. But this team has a much higher ceiling than it seems, and if they can figure out how to be more consistent, Weibo can make it far.

Out of all remaining LPL 2023 Summer Playoffs teams, Weibo Gaming have the best chance to exceed expectations. It’s possible that Weibo will collapse and allow LNG Esports to run away with the game, but at the offered LoL betting odds, the outsiders are excellent value.
