The Brazilian underdogs proved too good for 3DMAX in Sunday’s decider, winning 3-2 to clinch a maiden LAN title.

By beating 3DMAX in the grand final of CS Asia Championships 2025 in Shanghai on Sunday, Legacy secured their first LAN Counter-Strike 2 trophy.
Having entered the Chinese tournament as one of the outsiders, the Brazilians completed their run to the trophy with a 3-2 victory in the decider.
Legacy’s road to the top started in Group A, where they bested 3DMAX 2-1 in the second round. However, they could not make it past Team Liquid in the upper-bracket final.
After letting a semifinal bye slip between their fingers, Legacy survived a quarterfinal scare against FUT Esports before reverse-sweeping HEROIC in the semifinals.
Legacy started the Sunday’s final strong, taking 3DMAX’s map pick, Nuke, with 13-6. While they seemed well on their way to go 2-0 ahead, with a 5-1 start on CT side, 3DMAX’s efficient executes on A side turned the game upside down.
The French squad added one more point to their name on Inferno with 13-5, but Legacy were not ready to go home yet.
A close back-and-forth on Train ended in Legacy’s favor, forcing the CS Asia Championships final to Ancient — a map neither team is comfortable on.
However, despite their sub-40% map win rate, Legacy got off to a flying start, securing a 10-2 lead before switching to Terrorists.
3DMAX found early success on CT, winning the first three maps, but could not find a response for Bruno “latto” Rebelatto. He posted a 1.88 rating on the map, leading Legacy to a comfortable 13-6 victory on the decider, and took out his first-ever MVP award.
After winning the CS Asia Championships, Legacy now have just over four days to prepare for PGL Masters Bucharest 2025.
The tournament is scheduled to kick off on October 24, featuring 16 Counter-Strike 2 teams and a US$625,000 prize pool.
Despite their success in China, the top Counter-Strike 2 betting sites have Legacy as +1600 outsiders to hoist the trophy in Romania, well behind the likes of Aurora Gaming (+275), 3DMAX (+400), and Team Liquid (+400).
