After taking care of business in the first round of League of Legends Pro League (LPL) 2026 Split 1 Playoffs, JD Gaming and Anyone’s Legend are set to clash on Thursday, February 26, for a spot in the upper bracket final.

JD Gaming finished the group stage in fourth place, with a 5-5 record, and edged past Top Esports in the upper bracket finals.

The series, which went the distance, was much more competitive than expected.

JDG entered the game as -250 favorites on the best LoL bookmakers, yet came very close to dropping the game 1-3. That, however, is not too surprising, as JD Gaming have not been playing as well as the public perception would suggest.

While they have the players and coaching staff to emerge as one of LPL’s top dogs, JD Gaming have been very inconsistent, and their performance metrics are not that great. Outside of flashes of greatness, Tsai “hongQ” Ming-hong and his crew have been middling.

Opting more for scaling, JD Gaming are also prone to letting the game run away from them in the early game, which is an area their opponents can seek to exploit.

Anyone’s Legend are a better team in all areas. They are the most stable squad in the LPL, have excellent read on meta, strong drafts, and a solid early game.

Even though Anyone’s Legend have not had as many flashy victories, they get the job done without much unpredictability. AL ran over Team WE in the upper bracket quarterfinals, and while that in itself is not a major accomplishment, Anyone’s Legend looked very good across the series.

JD Gaming are rightly priced as underdogs. They weren’t great during the group stage and have hardly shown anything inspiring in their 3-2 victory against Top Esports.

This is Anyone’s Legend’s game to lose.
