GamerLegion sign imd as a new Counter-Strike 2 head coach

On Monday, January 26, GamerLegion announced Adrian “imd” Pieper as a permanent head coach of their Counter-Strike 2 division.

Imd joined GamerLegion in March 2024 as an assistant coach. He was promoted to the interim coach position on December 10, replacing Ashley “ashhh” Battye, who stepped away from the game due to health reasons.

The 29-year-old got his first chance to lead the team as a coach earlier this month at FRAG Miami 2 2026, where GamerLegion placed third. After a promising debut as a head coach, imd also helped the squad qualify for the BLAST Bounty Winter LAN stage, where GamerLegion crashed out in the first round against the reigning Major champions, Team Vitality.

Despite the bittersweet exit, it marked GamerLegion’s best tournament run since placing fourth at PGL Masters Bucharest. The promising start as an interim coach has now secured the Polish skipper his ninth stint as a head coach and the first in a Tier-1 team. He has previously led Venatores, x-kom Team, PACT, IG, Anonymo, GENTFOLK, Let Us Cook, and Pompa Team.

Alongside the announcement of imd as a new coach, GamerLegion also brought in Denis “Grashog” Hristov as an assistant coach. The 26-year-old was recently an assistant at Inner Circle and has previous coaching experience from his time at 500.

GamerLegion are now ready for their next competitive endeavour at Intel Extreme Masters Krakow, which is set to begin on Wednesday, January 28. Despite their promising showing at BLAST Bounty Winter, GamerLegion are not among the top contenders on the outright markets. The top Counter-Strike 2 bookmakers have them priced as +25000 outsiders, alongside HEROIC and ahead of NRG at +50000.

Team Vitality lead the markets as the top dogs to win the Polish trophy at +250, ahead of FURIA at +350, Team Falcons at +400, and Team Spirit at +450.
