G2 Esports clinched their third trophy of 2024 by sweeping Team Spirit in a dominant 3-0 victory at the BLAST Premier World Final, held at the Resorts World Convention Centre in Singapore.

This final showdown was one-sided, with G2 securing victories on Mirage (13-7), Anubis (13-5), and Dust2 (13-7), denying Spirit double-digit rounds on each map and underscoring their pre-match status as heavy favourites with esports betting sites.

G2’s Counter-Strike 2 roster was in peak form throughout the series.

Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov dazzled with his trademark AWPing, while Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač took over on Dust2 with 27 kills in a stellar final map performance.

Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa contributed precise shots and high-impact plays, while Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski provided steady support, even in quieter roles.

Despite Danil “donk” Kryshkovets winning his duel with NiKo 10-9, Spirit struggled to make a mark, largely due to their ineffective terrorist sides, which failed to deliver any consistent pressure on G2.

Mirage began with Spirit taking an early pistol round, but G2 swiftly countered, dominating the second half and sealing it 13-7.

On Anubis, Spirit’s troubles worsened as their offence faltered, letting NiKo control the game with 23 kills.

By the time they reached Dust2, G2’s rhythm was unstoppable, with huNter- leading the charge to conclude the series.

This victory wraps up the BLAST World Final era on a high note for G2, who have overcome recent setbacks, including a disappointing showing at IEM Rio.

Now, the team sets its sights on the upcoming Perfect World Shanghai Major, where NiKo aims for his first Major Counter-Strike title.

Spirit, meanwhile, will need to address their terrorist side issues if they hope to pose a challenge at the Shanghai event, as G2 continues to dominate their rivalry with an 11-1 map record against the CIS team this season.
