League of Legends World Championship 2025 crowned its two wooden-spooners on Sunday, when Fnatic and PSG Talon suffered their third defeats of the tournament.
As the LoL EMEA Championship (LEC) third seed, Fnatic’s fate was sealed by regional rivals Movistar KOI in their fourth meeting of the season.
All three maps were one-sided. KOI delivered the first blow, while Fnatic responded on the second thanks to a superb performance from support Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle.
However, Mikyx and the rest of the team could not find any traction on the decider and lost with a sizeable 14.7k gold deficit.
The second match of the day featured Vivo Keyd Stars taking on PSG Talon, who entered as firm favorites on the best LoL betting sites.
However, the Taiwanese team were soon left reeling after losing one of the shortest maps of the tournament, lasting 25:34 — just slightly longer than Hanwha Life Esports’ 24:50 win over 100 Thieves.
PSG Talon responded on the second map, largely thanks to jungler Hung “Karsa” Hao-Hsuan on Jarvan IV, but they could not keep the momentum going into the third.
Vivo Keyd Stars started the decider strong, taking the top side early. From there, the game snowballed out of control as the Brazilian squad claimed their first victory of the tournament.
Following Sunday’s matches, only 14 teams remain in the race for the coveted Summoner’s Cup. The tournament now goes on a short break and continues with Round 4 from Wednesday, October 22.
