Serbian esports tournament organiser FISSURE has announced the prize pool distribution for its two 2025 Counter-Strike 2 events, with part going to organisations and part to the players.

Five months after FISSURE confirmed two LAN Counter-Strike events in 2025 — FISSURE Playground #1 and FISSURE Playground #2 — the company has shared details about a new system of distributing the prize pool, which will be divided into two sections.

The first, smaller section will go to the players, while the second portion of the prize pool will go to the organisations directly. Both parts will be based on the team’s placement in the tournaments.

FISSURE Playground #1, which will take place from July 15-20, will offer a US$1 million prize pool, with $450,000 paid out to the players and $550,000 reserved for the organisations.

FISSURE Playground #2, which is scheduled to take place from September 9-21, will have a $1.25 million prize pool, with $500,000 set aside for the players and the remaining $750,000 going to the organisations.

Both tournaments will feature 16 Counter-Strike 2 teams, and both will take place in Belgrade, Serbia.

The changes in tournament payouts come after Valve’s decision to end partnerships between teams and organisers, intended to offer the same opportunities for everyone by combating franchised structures.

The former structure benefited partnered organisations, who were offered financial guarantees in exchange for providing their brand and audiences.

While the prizemoney has increased across most significant CS2 tournaments, a large portion has historically gone to the players, especially in the last four years, as the teams generated revenue with tournament organisers.

While FISSURE has opted to divide its prize pool into two parts, other prominent tournament organisers, such as ESL and BLAST, have modernised their incentive structures by introducing Frequent Flyer (BLAST) and Annual Club Incentive (ESL) schemes on top of offering appearance fees and extra prizemoney in the form of club share.
