Counter-Strike 2 tournament organizers FISSURE have announced a second wave of invites for the Playground #2 tournament, scheduled for September 12-21.

On Friday, FISSURE revealed the second wave of invites for the FISSURE Playground #2 tournament, leaving just four more spots in the 16-team US$1,250,000 Counter-Strike 2 tournament.
The news comes a week after the tournament organizers revealed the first six teams who accepted invites for the Serbian event.

The second wave of invites includes some of the biggest names in the CS2 scene, including tournament debutants Team Liquid, FaZe Clan, and the BLAST.tv Austin Major runners-up, The MongolZ.
Joining the stacked list are 3DMAX and GamerLegion, who will look to improve the impression they left in July, when they concluded the inaugural tournament of the series in fifth-eighth place.
Rounding out the second round of invites are the defending FISSURE Playground champions, TYLOO, who bested Astralis 3-1 in the grand final.
With 12 teams confirming their attendance at FISSURE Playground #2, just four more spots remain open and will include the next-best teams on the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) as of the July update.
FISSURE Playground 2 will play out on September 12-21 and feature a changed format compared to the inaugural event.
All 16 teams will start their title campaign in a single Swiss-style group, with all games played as best-of-three.
The top eight teams will proceed to single-elimination playoffs, which will use the same format for quarterfinals and semifinals and a best-of-five grand final.
