ESL Impact League Season 8 finals team list finalized

With the ESL Impact League Season 8 regional qualifiers now in the rearview mirror, the final eight Counter-Strike 2 teams are set to travel to Sweden to battle for the league’s last-ever trophy.

Set to kick off on November 28 at Stockholmsmässan in Stockholm, Sweden, the ESL Impact League Season 8 is the culmination of the eighth all-female CS2 esports league, featuring squads from Europe, North America, and South America.

While there is still over a month before the opening games, all eight participants are already locked in to participate in the last-ever installment of the Impact League finals.

The list of participants includes known faces in NIP Impact, BIG EQUIPA, and Imperial Female, who will be joined by Overpeek, FlyQuest RED, Shimmer, MIBR Female, and Atrix Esports.

Notable absentees include defending champions FURIA Female, who failed to place top two in the South American division, losing a three-way 6-1 tie with MIBR and Atrix.

With the defending champions out of the picture, the league’s most decorated team, the Imperial Female roster, will have a chance to reclaim the throne and secure a record seventh Impact League trophy.

However, despite their status, Imperial did not have the most promising run through the European division, where they placed in the top four behind both BIG EQUIPA and NIP Impact.

Hailing from North America are FlyQuest RED and the ESL Impact Season 7 finalists Shimmer (formerly Supernova Comets), who head to Sweden as serious title contenders.

The best esports betting sites have yet to open outright markets for the ESL Impact League S8. However, it is fair to assume NIP Impact, BIG EQUIPA, Imperial Female, and Shimmer will be among the top favorites to claim the last Impact trophy and the lion’s share of the US$123,000 prize pool.

ESL Impact Season 8 Final is the last-ever iteration of the event. ESL announced earlier this month that it will end this chapter of the female CS2 league after the eighth season due to the economic model’s unsustainability.
