The DreamHack DreamLeague has been run for 15 seasons from 2013, with the DreamLeague Kickoff Season taking place at the end of 2013, and Season 13 was the last official DreamLeague ending on January 26, 2020. From 2020 until 2022 there wasn’t an official DreamHack DreamLeague tournament, due to a number of reasons, with the COVID-19 pandemic playing one of the bigger roles in the hiatus of DreamLeague events.
Across the first 14 seasons, the DreamHack DreamLeague was classified as a Dota 2 Major three times, with Seasons 8, 11, 13 being the three events that were held in higher regard, and they had a much higher prize pool of US$1,000,000, as compared to the usual US$150,000 to US$300,000.
