G2 Esports are clear favourites to win on Friday, but HEROIC are not to be underestimated. Their ceiling is still a bit of an enigma, but in the Shanghai Major we have seen Damjan “kyxsan” Stoilkovski and co. beat Natus Vincere and play a very close series against Team Spirit.
Whether that level of Counter-Strike will be enough for HEROIC to win this clash remains to be seen. While G2 had some shaky moments in the group stage, they usually turn it up a notch in the playoffs.
With players like Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov, and Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač, who are an entirely different beast in playoffs, HEROIC will have a mountain to climb.
Despite HEROIC outperforming expectations, G2 Esports winning 2-0 is the most likely outcome.

Team Vitality have clashed with FaZe Clan four times this season and won all four meetings — including one during the European RMR A in November, with 13-5 on Mirage and 13-11 on Dust2.
FaZe Clan had a slow start to their Shanghai Major campaign but have looked slightly better lately, with wins against MOUZ and FURIA Esports. And even in their losses against HEROIC and G2 Esports during the elimination stage, FaZe showed good things.
Team Vitality have looked even better thanks to Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, who continues to make a case for himself as one of the top players of the year. Still, we cannot forget William “mezii” Merriman, who has been firing on all cylinders since his return, averaging a 1.20 performance rating as a support player.
Team Vitality should be too strong for FaZe Clan, but Finn “karrigan” Andersen and co. in Major playoffs are no pushovers and should be good for one map.
